Standard Grind
We grind the stump 4-6 inches below ground level. Perfect for covering with topsoil and growing grass.
Don't let an old stump attract termites or trip up your kids. We grind unsightly stumps below ground level, leaving you with a fresh slate for sod or planting.
A tree stump isn't dead; it's a decaying ecosystem. As the wood rots, it releases scents that attract subterranean termites, carpenter ants, and wood-boring beetles. Once they finish the stump, your home's foundation is their next target.
We use self-propelled grinders that fit through standard 36-inch backyard gates. No heavy trucks on your lawn, just efficient, surgical removal of the stump core.
Leaving a stump causes long-term headaches for homeowners.
Rotting roots are a superhighway for termites to travel from the yard directly to your home's foundation.
Hidden by grass, stumps break toes and damage lawn mower blades. They are a liability.
Some species (like Hackberry and Crepe Myrtle) will continually shoot up "suckers" until the root ball is destroyed.
You can't replant, pave, or build a deck until the obstacle is removed completely.
We grind the stump 4-6 inches below ground level. Perfect for covering with topsoil and growing grass.
Going 12-18 inches deep to remove the central root ball. Essential if you plan to plant a new tree in the same spot.
We chase and grind the large lateral roots extending into the yard that damage mowers and trip pedestrians.
We measure the diameter at the widest point (where it touches the ground) to provide an accurate quote.
We move rocks and debris away from the stump to prevent projectile damage during grinding.
Our machine sweeps back and forth, turning the wood into mulch until the stump is gone.
We rake the resulting mulch back into the hole for safety. Haul-away is optional.
Simple pricing based on diameter inches.
Covers one or more small stumps up to a certain total diameter.
Price per inch of diameter measured at ground level. Varies by access difficulty.
Optional fee to bag and haul away the mulch generated by the grinder.
*Measurements include visible surface roots near the trunk base.
Our standard grind is 6-8 inches below grade, which is perfect for laying sod or grass. If you plan to replant a tree in the exact same spot, request a 'deep grind' (12-18 inches) to remove the heart of the root ball.
Grinding creates a volume of mulch roughly 3x the size of the stump. By default, we rake it back into the hole to settle (it will shrink as it composts). We offer a Haul-Away Service for an additional fee if you want the chips removed entirely.
Yes, we can "chase" lateral roots that are tripping hazards. However, if the tree is still standing or close to other trees, grinding roots can destabilize or kill them. We only grind roots of trees that have been removed or are far from living trees.
